If you’ve encountered an issue during the Garmin smartwatch pairing or synchronization process, please follow these instructions to try resolving it:

 

  • If the Garmin pairing couldn’t complete or the app continuously shows a “Synchronizing…” message without completing the process, please try to close the app. Then, eliminate it from the opened apps in your phone and access it again. Check the video below for higher explanation. 

 

Once the app is opened, check in the HumanITcare app settings if the Garmin device appears as paired or not. If not, try the pairing process again and check that the synchronization process is advancing until it reaches 100%.

 

  • If the synchronization issue persists and there’s continuous toggling between ‘Connected’ and ‘Disconnected’ states, please try turning off the smartwatch and then turning it back on to try again. To do this:
    • Press and hold the top button of the smartwatch.
    • Select the power-off symbol in the center of the watch screen and accept the question to turn off the device.
    • Once the screen turns off completely, press and hold the top button of the smartwatch again to turn it back on.
    • Try syncing your watch again.
  • If the last step doesn’t solve the issue and the synchronization doesn’t complete. Please try to unpair the smartwatch:
    1. For this aim, click on the linked smartwatch icon in the HumanITcare app.
    2. Then, select the popup option “Unpair”.
    3. You should also check that the Garmin device is not anymore in the smartphone Bluetooth settings. For this aim, go to your smartphone’s settings > Bluetooth settings and select the option of forgetting the Garmin device from your connected devices. Check the video below for higher explanation. 

In this way, the device will be completely unlinked from your phone and you will be able to repeat the pairing process again to ensure it can be correctly completed now.

  • If the pairing and/or synchronization processes still do not complete after following the past steps, probably the Garmin device is not well set. Please, try to reset your Garmin device. To do this:
    1. If your Garmin device is currently paired to your phone, please unpair it by following the steps shown in the second point.
    2. Maintain pressed the bottom button of the Garmin smartwatch until the menu appears.
    3. Select the settings symbol “” that is displayed by going down on the smartwatch screen.
    4. Go down on the settings options until you see “System
    5. Select it and go down to find the “Reset” option
    6. Select “Reset Default Settings” as it is preferable not to delete the data collected from the smartwatch.

After resetting the Garmin device, switch it on again and try to pair it again with your smartphone by following the steps displayed on the HumanITcare app.

  • If any of the later steps solve the issues with the Garmin pairing or synchronization. Please try to uninstall and install again the HumanITcare app. Before doing so, please keep in mind that, if your Garmin device is currently paired to your phone, you should unpair it by following the steps shown in point two.
