Dr. Brugada joins HumanITcare as a Medical Advisor, with the purpose to bring his brilliant medical knowledge of cardiology to HumanITcare, to bring it to the next level on connected health.
Dr. Josep Brugada Terradellas (Girona, 1958) is one of the most well-known doctors in the field of Cardiology worldwide. He is a Doctor of Medicine and Surgery (Cum Laude) from the University of Barcelona, in 1988 at the University of Montpellier graduated as a Specialist in Cardiology and Specialist in Biology and Sports Medicine, in 2005 Master in Management of Integrated Health Services (ESADE). He is currently the Medical Director of the Hospital Clínic of Barcelona, Head of the Arrhythmias Section of the Hospital Pediátrico Sant Joan de Déu, and past President of the European Society of Cardiac Arrhythmias (2005-2009). He has been a professor of Cardiology in the Department of Medicine at the University of Barcelona since 1998.
He has published more than 300 original articles. He is a member of numerous scientific societies and Deputy Editor of the European Heart Journal.
In the field of research, his greatest achievement has been the description, along with his brothers Pedro and Ramón of a sudden death syndrome known in the medical literature as Brugada syndrome.
This is a big incorporation since remote monitoring of patients, nowadays, is part of the new normal for health care.
